Grace
Meet Grace, our almost 10-year-old book lover! She started reading pretty early because her older sister taught her phonics—she really had no choice in the matter, lol! Her love for books blossomed early, and she absolutely adores reading to her younger sisters. Grace really dives deep into her stories; she remembers so many details and loves to chat about the books once she finishes.
______________
Summary : This book is about three children, Joe, Beth, and Frannie. They move to a new home. The house was near a forest, and in the forest, there was a tall tree. The children started to climb it, and up the tree, they met small pixies and fairies who had little homes in the tree. The top of the tree reaches the clouds, and you can go through the clouds to enter a different world. There are different worlds every week, and the children go to the worlds with their friends from the tree.
Best moments: When the children meet the creatures.
Worst moments: When they had to go home to do their chores.

The BFG by Roald Dahl
Summary : The book is about an orphan girl. One night, she goes to bed with all the other orphans, but she stays awake and reads her book with her torch in her bed. Then, a giant comes near where she lives; he takes her because she saw him. He doesn’t really want to steal her; he takes her to Giant Country, where other giants live as well. The FLESHLUMPEATER and eight more giants all eat little children. The giant that took the little girl is nice; she calls him BFG, which stands for Big Friendly Giant. BFG makes dreams for children to have while they are sleeping, and most of the time, they are silly dreams. The little girl, Sophie, stays with the BFG in his home so she doesn’t get eaten by the other giants.
Best moments: When Sophie and BFG meet the queen.
Worst moments: When Sophie sees the other giants and they eat children.

George Marvellous Medicine by Roald Dahl
Summary: George is a boy who has to stay with his grandma for the day. His grandmother always needs medicine because she doesn’t feel well. When George is going to give her medicine, he goes to the kitchen to get it. Instead of giving her the real medicine, he decides to make his own medicine with lots of ingredients. He gives it to his grandma, and she takes it without knowing he made it. When she takes it, she flies up in the air and then comes back down. George asks, "Are you alright?" She then feels fire in her tummy, and smoke starts coming out of her nose. She said that she feels like she’s going to be boiled like a beetroot.
George runs to the kitchen and gets a jug of water. He tells her to open her mouth, and she begins to bulge; she is swelling and puffing all over, looking like someone is pumping her up. After that, she grows very tall and goes through the roof of the house. George thinks this is a very good medicine. He decides to try it on his animals because he lives on a farm with his family. He tries it on one of his chickens, and after a while, the chicken grows big like his grandmother. George thinks this would be a very good medicine.
When his mom and dad come home, they first see Grandma's head poking out of the roof and the giant chicken. George's dad asks how the chicken got so big, and George replies, "It was my medicine! I gave it to Grandma first, then I gave it to the chicken." George’s dad says, "Wow, we should make more of this medicine!" Meanwhile, Grandma keeps complaining that she wants to get out.
While George tries to remember all the ingredients, he used to make the medicine (there is actually a full page in the book listing them), he attempts to recreate it but fails. The medicine doesn’t work properly. He tries again, but it doesn’t work because he remembers that he sang a song the first time he made the medicine, and at the end, he realizes, "Oh, I forgot the magic words!
Best moments: The time when the chicken grows big.
Worst moment: When he tries to sing again to make the medicine, but it doesn’t work.
